Studies on stress/strain distribution inside of FEMUR FRACTURE

This research study has the objective to compute and compare the stress/strain distribution inside of a femur fracture for different fixation methods: with metallic plate or metallic rod.  Several results are presented in the following pictures. The results were used for research grants and were presented in journal papers, conferences or Ph.D theses.

Studies on stress/strain distribution inside of a femur fracture fixation

(2)

3D model and stress/strain distribution of the femur fracture fixation for standing position, in two cases: using exterior metal plate and screws (1) and using inside metallic rod with screws.

An overall stress distribution with increased values was found for the second case, for standing or walking movement.
